up date: our Christmas vacation

It was great! We decided that we were not going to buy "stuff" for Christmas. Just moving again we realized how much "stuff" we had. The kids were unpacking boxes from a year ago, and that was like Christmas to them!

It was time to end the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Heck your worn out before it even gets here. It seems like all of our family home evenings were about Christ and the Birth of Christ, but all the running around and knowing your getting farther and farther in debt for one day, just took and magic away!

So Why not get away and spend time as a family.
We left the night before in a blizzard. It was hard to even find a hotel, because so many flights were getting canceled.

We left plenty early 2 1/2 hours, and every single time through the SLC it takes that long to get through the baggage, ticket, security, feeding the kids, and finding your flight. On an average we have only waited 15 minutes before boarding and taking off.

It was a 4 hour flight. Angels were with us, because Brinlee slept 3/4 of the way there and back. We brought ipods, game boys and cards. Don't forget the treats.

Our flight left at 10:00 and we arrived in Florida at 5:30. There is a 2 hour difference. We stepped off the plain in sweaters and pants. By the time we got to baggage claim we were sweating. We removed all sweaters.

I had arranged for transportation to pick us up ahead of time and we were wisked away in a black travel van with lights and flat screen TV inside of it. We felt like rock stars.

Our driver was falling asleep driving us so I stuck my elbow in Wynn to talk to the driver to talk to him and wake him up.

We arrived at our Nickalodean inn... It was awsome. In the lobby you felt like you entered kid zone with a huge Christmas tree.

Catch up!

I have high speed Internet! I can blog again!
We just moved during Thanksgiving to Woodruff Utah. The kids have been attending school in Randolph and Lake Town (better known as Bear Lake). They love it!

This house is old, but well taken care of! Square ft I believe it is bigger than our home in Riverton. There is just something that makes you feel at home here. It might be a fenced in yard, garage, acreage in the back, cement walk ways or just the smells of a grandma's home.

I am over moving. I have almost unpacked all the boxes, only three left and then I can go to my storage and start getting out all of my fun stuff that has been packed away. I am excited, but have no ambition to do it.

We ran into a few little problems like the electrical outlets are old, heck all the electrical is old. The upstairs we couldn't get either of the boys beds or mattresses up there, so the little room down stairs that I had painted and wanted to decorate for Brinlee's room is now a cowboy room. Like I always live by.... where there is a will there is a way.

We decided for Christmas to end the year with some family fun. We booked a trip to Florida at the Nickelodeon Hotel. We will spend the Christmas holiday there and take the kids to Disney World for Christmas. Even though we are tight on money, we decided instead of buying the kids "things" that cost so much money and will break within a month of Christmas, Why not go and have fun together.

It seems like Christmas has turned into the month of the rat race. Trying to fit in every shopping gift for every person who you care about, going to every party, cooking and basically wearing yourself out and going nuts. I don't have anything left to give half way through the season. So I wanted to take a different approach, and going back to basics.

Have a Merry Christmas Everyone! Love you
